Terms of Use
Last updated: 6 August 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") apply to the Session Review apps — Session Review Educator and Session Review Learner — and the website at sessionreview.com.au (together, the "Service"), operated by Session Review, a partnership based in Terrey Hills, New South Wales 2084, Australia (ABN 73 522 572 155) ("we", "us", "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
What Session Review is
Session Review is a simple, one-way tool for sharing session notes from a teacher or tutor to a student or their parent/guardian. Teachers enter session summaries in the Educator app; students or parents view them in the Learner app by entering the teacher's code. A teacher may also share individual written notes with a particular student. The Service does not provide messaging back to the teacher, file sharing, or supervision.
Who can use the Service
The Service is intended to be set up and used by adults — teachers, and parents, guardians, or adult learners. If you allow a child to use the Learner app or to view notes, you do so as the responsible adult. You are responsible for keeping your code reasonably private.
Accounts and codes
Each app uses an account so your information stays with you if you change devices. You can sign in with Apple or with an email address and password. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure.
Access to a teacher's shared notes is controlled by short six-character codes (and QR cards) generated in the Educator app. Each code belongs to one student record, and once redeemed it is linked to that learner's account. You are responsible for how you share and use these codes. A teacher can remove a student at any time, which frees the code and ends access, or reset a student's link so they can join again from a new device.
You can delete your account and the data held with it at any time from Settings in either app.
Acceptable use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and only to enter information you are entitled to share. You must not:
- store sensitive personal information;
- use the Service to harass, harm, or infringe the rights of others;
- attempt to access another person's data without their code or consent;
- attempt to disrupt, damage, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems.
We ask teachers to use first names or nicknames and to keep notes appropriate.
Your content
You keep ownership of the notes and information you enter. You are responsible for that content and for having the right to share it with the people you give your code to — including any consent required from a parent or guardian where a student is a child, and from your school or institution where its policy requires it. You grant us permission to store and transmit that content only as needed to provide the Service, as described in our Privacy Policy.
Subscriptions and payment
Session Review is a paid service. Access to both the Educator and the Learner app requires an auto-renewing subscription of AU$9.99 per year, per person, purchased through your Apple ID. Both apps are free to download; a subscription is required to use them. There is no free tier.
- The current price is always shown in the app before you purchase, and payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions on your device. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Refunds are handled by Apple under the standard App Store terms; we cannot issue them directly. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- If we change the price, Apple will ask for your consent before the next renewal.
Information you have already recorded remains available to you; we will not place existing records behind a paywall.
Availability and changes
We may update, change, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, and we do not guarantee it will always be available or error-free. The Service relies on third-party infrastructure (Google Firebase); please do not rely on the app as your only record of important information. If we discontinue the Service, we will give reasonable notice and a way to export your data.
Intellectual property
The Session Review name, apps, website, and design are owned by us. These Terms do not give you any right to use our branding, or to copy, modify, or distribute the Service, without our permission.
Third-party services
The Service uses Google Firebase to store and sync data, and Apple's App Store to process subscriptions and deliver notifications. Your use of the Service is also subject to the relevant terms and privacy practices of those providers.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.
Nothing in these Terms excludes, restricts, or modifies any consumer rights or guarantees you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Where our services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law, and where we are entitled to limit our liability, our liability is limited to re-supplying the Service (or the reasonable cost of re-supplying it).
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service.
Apple
These Terms are between you and Session Review, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for the Service or its content, and has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for it. Apple is not responsible for addressing any claim relating to the Service, including product liability, legal or regulatory compliance, or intellectual property claims. In the event of any failure of the Service to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple may refund the purchase price; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation. These Terms operate alongside Apple's standard Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement. Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them against you.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date above and post the new version on this page. Continuing to use the Service means you accept the updated Terms.
Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New South Wales, Australia. You agree to submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales.
